Happy Half Birthday, Jack!

Jack turns 3 and a half today!

What a big day for our little guy.  To gear up for the celebration, we had a jammed packed weekend of fun.

The sleepover was a resounding success. Everyone woke up with smiles.  And then demanded matching outfits, right down to their underwear!

Then it was off to soccer practice. The boys play in the same Bloomingdale Toddler Soccer league, and had a ton of fun running around and kicking the ball. Following soccer, which takes place in our backyard, it took us 90 minutes to get home because Jack was having such a great time playing with all of neighborhood friends.

No weekend can ever be complete without a trip to see some dinosaurs. This is Spinosaurus!  A new discovery, it's skeleton is massive and on exhibit at the National Geographic Museum.

The exhibit wasn't the most amazing, but Jack had fun exploring what it would be like to be a paleontologist and dig up some bones.

We also went and saw a 3-D movies on Sea Monsters while we were there.

Jack got some new dinosaurs, and he promptly wanted to feed his new friends some of his favorite snacks - goldfish crackers.

Even after all of this fun, we went to a birthday party and then had movie night at home.  Saturday was a busy day.

No weekend is complete in Bloomingdale without a Sunday trip to the farmer's market. The french pastry and bread stall is delicious, and Jack bee-lined there immediately, requesting a croissant the size of his head. He ate every morsel.

After a quick hair cut and some lunch, we took off sailing on the Potomac. We met up with friends who have daughters a little older than Jack. The three of them manned the boat for us. They were great captains and first mates!

And today, Jack is three and a half. I saved some of his birthday cake in the freezer with the sole intention of us singing happy half birthday today. I can't believe my little guy is getting so big!
