Raising Astoria

Last week Michael was in Maui.  Yup, Maui.  By himself.  Without Jack.  With beautiful beaches.  Migrating humpback whales.  While Jack was on a nap strike.  Did I mention by himself yet?  Sure, he was there for work, but he was in MAUI BY HIMSELF DURING A NAP STRIKE.

So of course, Jack and I had to travel somewhere as well that was equally exotic.  Where did we go you may ask?  Why Astoria in the beautiful borough of Queens of course.

One of Maria's best friends from law school lives there with her three adorable daughters.  Jack had never met the likes of three-year old twins Amelia and Lucia.  They kept him on his toes until the moment we got into the car to come home to DC, where he promptly fell asleep by the end of their block!

There were tears over who would sit next to Jack.  Easy solution - Jack sat in the middle, lucky guy!
There was bike riding!

All the cool kids play in the ally.

We went to art class...

but Jack was only interested in DANCING!

There was a very crowded bath time where we discussed the differences between boys and girls.

We capped off our visit with a trip to toddler yoga.  While Jack showed off his asana practice, he was more interested in, you guessed it, DANCING!
Can't wait until we get a chance to go back and visit again! We had so much fun, who needs Maui?
