Christmas 2012

I'm just going to say it, for me and Michael, Christmas 2012 is not going to go down in the books as "the most magical Christmas ever!"  It will go down in the books though as the time we, my parents and Andrew came down with a vicious stomach virus starting on Christmas day which culminated in my having to check Michael into the hospital on the morning of the 27th... but wait that's not all... and then two hours after he discharged himself, getting into the car with Jack and Skylos and driving ten hours back to DC because at that point, we really wanted our own bed.  By the time we arrived back in DC, we were delirious, nauseous and tired after having not slept for the past forty eight hours.

Jack, however, did have THE MOST MAGICAL CHRISTMAS TO DATE (this was only his second) and we are so glad that he never realized the hiccups (that's what we can call it) going on while he was playing with his cars.

Christmas is always a marathon for us.  Multiple stops, seeing as many people as we can, and feeling like we have not seen anyone enough in the process.  This year was no different. We missed out on going to Maria's Thea Eleni and Theo Niko's house, which was the place we were most excited to eat (because no one leaves Thea Eleni's home hungry) and unfortunately only saw Jack's Nouna and Nouno for a brief period.  Hopefully, next year will be better, BUT all the more reason to come visit us!

We arrived in Michigan a few days prior to Christmas to ensure that we had plenty of time to celebrate with Tommy and Elle before they headed up north to the UP to see Elle's family.

The next day Jack got to spend a morning with his Pappy and Granny at their house, playing with cars and dogs!

Opening books that used to be Dad's!

Cars, and cars, and yet still more cars!

On Christmas Eve, we traveled to Michael's grandparents house and celebrated with the entire Robbins clan!  Jack had a great time playing video games with his cousins.

This thing is awesome!

Cars (duplo cars...)!

Playing with Grandpa Ray

Jack was pretty enthralled by the video game playing by the older kids, so his Uncle Joel decided to help him during his turn to play.

Jack had so much fun that his Aunt Kim played again with him.  Not sure who was having more fun, Jack or Aunt Kim!

Then came Christmas morning.  Yes, Santa had already stopped by our house... but he dropped off a few more toys at Jack's Yiayia and Papou's.

Planes!

Of course, Skylos got a present for being such a good boy.

Let me at it!

Our last stop on our Christmas Express turned out to be Jack's Grammy and Jaja's house.  Jack loved hanging out with them and playing with, yes you guessed it, more cars.

And so, we wish you a very Happy Holidays and a wonderful and healthy New Year!

Love,
Michael, Maria and Jack
