Rawr! Animal Kingdom

The newest addition to the Disney family is the Animal Kingdom, which is essentially a very large wild animal safari zoo.  We ended up spending two mornings there, the best time to see the animals in action!

We started off our adventure heading towards the Tree of Life, which is the center of Animal Kingdom.  On our way, we encountered some awesome animals (monkeys, birds and warthogs!) and were told fun facts about the animals we were seeing.

We then went into "It's a Bugs Life" show, a 4D experience which required us to wear 3D glasses (which Jack refused to put on) and sprayed us with water and smoke.  Needless to say Jack got very scared and we left the show early.

We then headed into Dinoland to see Dinosaurs!!

But they kept playing a dinosaur growling noise throughout the area, which did not sit well with Jack after the "Bugs Life" freak out.  Onward to the next part of the park!

Finally, we got to the Asia area where we did a walking tour through a wild animal exhibit that contained monkeys, giant cows and tigers! Now Jack was having fun!

We left the Animal Kingdom at nap time and decided to return the following day to explore the Africa section of the park.  We took a train ride through Africa to a portion of the park dedicated to Disney's conservation efforts.  In addition to the veterinary hospital and backstage access to where the lions sleep, we got to play with some animals that were a little more Jack's speed - a petting zoo with domesticated animals.

Jack called all of the sheep and goats "doggie".  And he barked at them.  He's only 19 months, he is still learning his animals.

Amazingly this goat let Jack brush him.  Skylos would not have permitted that.

On the train back to the station, right before we intended to embark on a safari ride to see elephants and before 11 am, our intrepid adventurer passed out in his mommy's arms.  Jack's super strong mommy then carried him sleeping through the park, onto the shuttle back to the hotel and placed him in his crib, where he then proceeded to sleep for an additional 3 hours.
