Quality time with dad & a great night's sleep!

Jack loves to punch his toys

This weekend, Maria was co-hosting a bachelorette party for a friend in DC. This meant Mike was on his own with Jack for a good part of the weekend - Friday night and all day Saturday. This was the longest time Maria would be away from Jack in his almost 11 weeks of life and the longest time Mike would be solo with Jack. Everything went great and Maria was able to have some great quality time with friends while Mike & Jack bonded. Jack was in a great mood on Saturday, and the boys played with Jack's toys, went on two long walks with Skylos, hung out on the roof deck to enjoy the beautiful weather and Jack took his first long daytime nap (over an hour) in a week. Everyone was worn out by the time Maria got home, in time for bath time, especially Jack.
Check out my awesome rattles!

After his bath, Jack went to sleep in his car seat as Michael & Maria went out for a quick bite to eat at Duffy's next to our condo building. Jack slept through dinner in his car seat, and then he kept sleeping through the rest of the night! For the first time, much to our amazement as the previous week had been a very difficult sleep week, Jack slept for 10.5 hours. We were awake this morning (5am) before he was!

Happy in his swing, playing with his dad

Out for a walk on Saturday afternoon with Skylos
When he woke, he was obviously very hungry but he was well-rested and has been in a great mood all day today too. He is on one of his play mats now playing with the toy hanging down from above him, and his favorite thing to do is to use his fist to pound on the big stuffed whale. Given that Jack's first really good night of sleep in a week came after a day of playing with his dad all day, Michael takes all the credit for the 10.5 hour sleep ;-)

Waking up around 5:30am on Sunday after a wonderful 10.5 hour sleep!

  1. Oh. Em. Gee. What cute photos!

Hey Maria, it's David, one of Jetta's dads. Don't know if you saw the following posting about the car accident you saw evidence of.

    See you around. David

  2. I don't know about you, but my kid's good long first night's sleep wasn't restful for me. I was too paranoid that he had stopped breathing and that's why he didn't wake up. Exhausting. I hope you enjoyed it.
